Scammer’s Strategies
We would like to post and respond to a letter sent to us by a member. It came from someone, unidentified, from the TCI site. Although they say they cannot post to our inboxes, this was sent to his inbox after 3 previous letters. He used the word “investigation” in the subject line, which is likely the only reason it was read.
It says:
We have seen your letters. I’m sorry for not responding but we are receiving hundreds of emails daily right now.
The site you refer to is not telling the truth. You will believe what you will, but you and they will see the truth soon enough. The man behind the site is a man who is in serious trouble with the tax authorities in Canada, and has made a deal with them. To what end we can only speculate, but we believe that those who align with him will run into tremendous difficulties. Also, for your information, he has received over 4 times his original investment back. Send this response in and see if it gets posted. We can supply dates and amounts of transfers.
Again, you will believe what you will. Please try to keep the faith and sorry for the delay in writing. We truly are swamped.
Beware of that group.
OK Ross. We posted it. We are not afraid of your threats and members can see through your attempts to discredit us. We have the following comments and observations:
1) Quit wasting your time responding to emails with negative comments about other members. Spend some time responding to our requests for information about our money and our demands to be paid out of the club. I personally have three unopened emails on your site, dating back to Feb. 11, 2005. You are only worried about yourselves when you screen our messages and open only those that say “investigation.”
2) Yes, we agree that members will see the truth soon enough. Many have already realized the truth of the scam that you are perpetrating. Despite the truth that we have been posting for the past six weeks, you have yet to defend yourselves with logical and clear information to members. These are the questions we want answered:
Where is our money right now?
How much money does TCI Investment Club have in its accounts and how many cents on the dollars stated in our statements can you repay right now?
Who is in control of the TCI funds?
Why don’t you give us the name of the lawyer who is supposed to receive our money and pay us?
What EXACTLY is causing the continuous delays that prevent payments to members?
Since we believe that you are only trying to protect yourselves from prosecution in this scam, we are proceeding to hire forensic accountants who will find out the answers to those questions. Although we will pay the costs of such investigation, we will recover the costs from liquidation of your assets. You choose. Tell us now or pay for our forensic auditors to find and report this information.
3) Not only does the man behind this site have tax problems, hundreds of our members have financial difficulties including bankruptcies, evictions, divorces, physical and emotional difficulties. Would you like a list? Are you saying that you would waste your precious time to find and report the transaction dates and amounts of one member’s account? Go ahead. It’s illegal. I envy that man the fact that he got a lot of his money out of TCI before you shut the doors to withdrawals. He is obviously smarter than many members, including myself, who still have most of my original deposits in my account and avoided withdrawals in order that my “blessings” could grow.
4) “We believe that those who align with him will run into tremendous difficulties”. Is that supposed to scare members away from the truth and recovery of their money through lawyers and accountants? The class action suit is not related to any one member or their wishes. Our group is representative of hundreds of members and will be handled objectively by professionals.
TCIR Members should know that the attacks on our committee are to be expected. It has been pointed out to us by professionals that we have interviewed that these attacks will come and will increasingly try to paint us as the cause of the delays and problems sending out money. It is a well-known strategy used by scammers who are getting pressured. Realize that although TCI management are under pressure to come clean and tell us the truth about our investments, they have not done so. They continue to be vague, but now tell us it’s our fault! We believe that if they had our money they would have been sending it out. Their delays tell us that they do not have our money and they do not want to tell us the truth of where they have put it and who has control over it, if there is any left. After all, we are only asking to be paid what we are owed from our TCI account, and they refuse to pay or explain the situation clearly.
Meanwhile, TCI management wastes our time with newsletters that do not answer the questions that members want answered, and spend most of their time whining about their own problems. IF they ever had death threats made towards them, we all know how they can end those immediately. Pay members back, and whomever was that upset to send threatening letters will be pacified. If they are truly distressed by the vigilante members’ demands for money, PAY US BACK and we will gladly leave forever. But, no, they just complain and ask that we trust and be patient. For we will all be blessed and rewarded. Sorry guys, you are no longer believed and we hold you fully accountable to all TCI members for the return of 100% of the monies reported to be in our accounts. You can be honest with us now, or we will find out the truth and will see you rot in prison for your sins.
Charles Gordon said in the latest TCI newsletter: “they (TCIR committee) will have to face the consequences brought about by the extreme actions of their group. We must protect the rights and privileges of those members who have stuck with us through these difficult times.” What they are saying, not so subtly here, is that those who dare speak the truth about the scam will suffer and only those who believe our lies and support our double talk will be protected. Somehow I don’t believe that the courts will look at it that way and that is where this issue will ultimately be decided. Investors in the Andrew Lech case went to class action after 5 months of waiting for funds, and we have waited three and a half years! Do you think this is the course of action we want to take? This is the last thing we want to do, but we cannot tolerate your behavior towards investors anymore. You are choosing this action, not us.
